Milwaukee born John Ridley Wins Academy Award

Milwaukee born John Ridley (who grew up in Mequon) won the Oscar this year for Best Screenplay based on a previous work for the film “Twelve Years A Slave”.  While many Wisconsin born talents have won Oscars over the years (Spencer Tracey, Orson Welles, Fredrich March to name but a few), it was nice to see John Ridley giving Wisconsin props in an interview at the Vanity Fair after party when he mentioned recalling his days growing up in Wisconsin.  Congrats to John for his accomplishments and making us Cheeseheads proud once again.
