The Hideout: Al Capone’s Northwoods Retreat Photos

Several years ago I had a chance to got to Al Capone’s Northwoods Retreat with my brother and mother (before it closed down) and was able to get some photos of the place.  It’s interesting to know that so much of the Chicago gang activity of the 1920’s had a sort of silent existence in Wisconsin (Capone, Dillenger), as if that was the only place they could go to get away from the peering eyes of the Feds.  You can find out more fun facts about Capone’s Hideout via Couderay, WI – The Hideout: Al Capone’s Northwoods Retreat.

Meanwhile, these are some pretty cool photos to have in my Cheeseheads archives since the estate is no longer open to the public on a regular basis.
